About your host Sandy Lewis

Shortly after I retired from teaching in May 2015, I packed my bags and drove to Mississippi to visit a beloved aunt. Through her patient guidance, I learned to quilt and it became my passion.

Since that summer, I have enjoyed quilt classes and many workshops. I love inviting friends over to quilt together, share ideas, techniques and a homemade lunch. At their suggestion I started Quilters’ Escape to open my home to new friends like you.

With great sorrow, my Aunt Jean Crawford passed on March 8, 2017.  We had two great summers together and made 2 beautiful quilts together.  I continue to grieve my loss of her.  She was an incredible loving aunt and an amazing quilter.  Someday we will be together again.

My passion is now in creating a resort-style atmosphere for you to enjoy. Come to Tucson and revel in this quilt retreat while you create your masterpiece in cloth.
